MICRODERMABRASION

What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses tools in order to rejuvenate and restore natural glow to the skin. The micro dermabrasion procedure is simple and painless and is equally effective to surgical procedures (laser skin resurfacing, dermal abrasion) and chemical peels (for superficial skin imperfections only).
What is the difference between Flawless Peel (Diamond Peel) and PowerPeel?
FLAWLESS PEEL
uses diamond tips
- diamond is 4x harder than corundum crystals
- replaces the micro-crystal flow with a diamond tip wand. Areas closer to the eyes and mouth can be abraded more accurately with diamond abrasion (no risk of stray crystals causing damage or being ingested).
- easier to control and do not irritate the skin
- come with tipped wands of varied size and coarseness for different skin types and depths of resurfacing.
- it doesn't use a fresh supply of crystals after every treatment.
Power Peel
- Uses corundum crystals
- contains Aluminum oxide – safe even when it is ingested; 2nd hardest mineral next to diamond
- use of a special, hand-held device that propels a high-speed flow of aluminum oxide crystals onto the skin. At the same time, the machine's vacuum system sucks away dirt, dead cells and used crystals.
- crystals are disposed of after use
What is Power Peel®
The Power Peel® Microdermabrasion System is an intense exfoliation process that rejuvenates the skin by utilizing ultra-fine aluminum oxide crystals to remove the upper layer of the stratum corneum. At the same time, the hand piece of the instrument contains a vacuum tube that sweeps up both the crystals and the skin's cellular debris. This process exfoliates the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin which will result in a firmer, more youthful looking skin over time.
What are it's uses?
The Power Peel® Microdermabrasion System buffs the skin of fine lines and discoloration while refining texture and hue. Repeated treatments yield excellent results for scar revision (whether from acne, chicken pox, or even surgery scars) as well as deep discoloration, melasma, and tattoo removal.
What results can I expect, and how soon?
Depending on the area treated, you will notice an improvement in your skin's appearance. Acne scars will be less obvious. Age spots and fine lines are greatly diminished and many patients report that their skin seems to be softer, smoother, and younger-looking. After your first treatment, your skin will have a fresh pink glow. Improvement continues throughout your treatment program. you will begin to notice visible results after about the third treatment.
What are Power Peel® treatments like?
With the aid of microcrystals vacuumed through a delicate hand piece, held at a precise angle to the skin, a technician effects a superficial skin polishing. Treatments are applied through a course of weekly sessions. The Power Peel® Microdermabrasion System can enhance skin condition and do what no other available treatment can (without surgery) in combating the signs of aging skin. Most importantly, it is safe to use on all skin types and colors.
How often can I get a Power Peel® treatment?
Every 7 to 10 days for up to 12-15 treatments. Monthly treatments are recommended to maintain best results.
What's the down time?
Unlike chemical peels, laser resurfacing, or plastic surgery, there is little or no down time.
What are the benefits of a Power Peel® over other procedures?
Power Peel® microdermabrasion treatments do not burn like laser or acid treatments, and do not cause any disruptions to normal activities. There is less discomfort and recovery is fast. Furthermore, the Power Peel® is effective on all body areas. Chemical peels and laser resurfacing are most effective on the face but are not as safe and are less effective on the neck, chest, and hands. The Power Peel® system is superb on the face and on the hands (even the knuckles), chest, neck, knees, elbows, etc.
Is Aluminum Oxide (Crystals) safe?
Most doctors agree that aluminum oxide is not dangerous when ingested and is safe for use with skin resurfacing treatments (specifically microdermabrasion).
Microdermabrasion Crystals
• Aluminum oxide crystals have been the most commonly used abrasive agent for the last 20 years. Aluminum oxide is the second hardest mineral (diamonds are first).
• The irregular crystal shape makes them a more effective abrader. Aluminum oxide is also an inert material and it causes no allergic or adverse reactions. It is not toxic when ingested and is non-carcinogenic.
• Sodium bicarbonate crystals are an organic alternative to aluminum oxide crystals but they are a lot softer and less effective in microderma abrasion. They are used on patients with hyperpigmentation and can be easily washed off after treatment (sodium bicarbonate is water-soluble).
FLAWLESS PEEL
Flawless Peel [Diamond Microdermabrasion (Crystal-Free)]
• Crystal-free tips and natural diamond tips are easier to use and unlikely to leave tiny particles in the eyes, nose or mouth. But a crystal-free micro dermabrasion machine isn't completely safe.
The Diamond Peel is fast and virtually pain-free. It leaves little or no redness. It can help to minimize the most difficult skin conditions, or to rejuvenate and maintain the health of the skin. Treatments take less than an hour and should not interrupt your busy schedule.
